Agricultural Field Boundary Delineation with Multi Temporal Sentinel 2 Imagery
Barry Watkins, from the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, is presenting his research on the automated identification of agriculture fields based on Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. Barry introduced a novel multi-temporal approach using edge detection features combined with OBIA machine learning and knowledge-based classification techniques to successfully delineate agricultural fields with a variety of crop types.
Topics covered include:
- Automated agricultural field identification
- Using multi-temporal data & edge detection layers
- Segmentation approaches & Machine Learning
