Assign class to specific region within a classified image area
Is there a tool in eCognition that will assign class to just a portion of a classified image area rather than the entire image? For e.g., once the assign class algorithm is configured, maybe a polygonal tool can be used to demarcate areas within the image for correcting wrongly classified areas.

Please use the manual editing tools in eCognition for that. The Manual Editing Toolbar offers functions to select objects (via polygon or line or rectangle or click selection) and object reclassification or reshaping. Please take a look into the User Guide, in this link the Manual Editing Tools chapter is already highlighted for you:
